DVNA NEWS Ground Report: Development Works Seen in Assam’s Bangladesh Border Villages Under MGNREGA, NREGA and Other Schemes

DVNA NEWS (Delhi Voice News Agency), a Delhi NCR Noida-based national news portal, reports that its owner and journalist Rita alias Richa Sharma, also known as Priyadarshini Sharma, recently visited and interacted with people in Bangladesh-Assam border villages under the Mankachar block of the Mankachar district Panchayat and Rural Development (PNRD) area.

During the visit and interviews with local people, several development works were observed in the border villages. These included roads, houses, plain roads and roads in tough hilly areas, along with other rural development works being carried out under MGNREGA, NREGA and other schemes.

According to the observations made during the field visit, development activities were seen in the villages with the involvement of the block government, concerned officials and beneficiaries. The ground-level works included rural infrastructure and housing-related developments intended to benefit people living in these border areas.

The DVNA NEWS field observation also covered the Hatsingimari block area under the Mankachar district Panchayat and Rural Development (PNRD). Various development activities were observed there, including houses, plain roads and roads in difficult or hilly areas under MGNREGA, NREGA and other schemes.

During the interaction with local beneficiaries and workers, MGNREGA workers were also reported to be receiving their wages properly, according to the observations and interviews conducted during the visit.

The field visit, conducted in July 2026, focused on understanding the ground situation of development works and the experiences of beneficiaries and workers in villages located along the Bangladesh-Assam border.

DVNA NEWS's owner and journalist Rita alias Richa Sharma, also known as Priyadarshini Sharma, observed the development activities along with the participation of local block government officials, concerned personnel and beneficiaries.

The report highlights the development works visible on the ground, particularly rural roads, houses and other infrastructure under MGNREGA, NREGA and related rural development schemes, as well as the experiences of workers receiving wages under the employment programme.
