Met Hon’ble PMO India, Sh. Narendra Modi ji and briefed him on Meghalaya’s strong development momentum, including economic growth, improvements in maternal health and human development, farmer income initiatives, New Shillong city, tourism expansion, preparations for the 39th National Games 2027, and preservation of indigenous knowledge and culture.

We discussed Meghalaya’s future growth, focusing on sustained support for smaller NER States, capital investment, enhanced EAP ceiling, infrastructure and fiscal empowerment. I also submitted documents on the State’s progress, Vision 2032, and proposals aligned with the vision of Viksit Bharat.

Thanked the Hon’ble Prime Minister for his greetings to the people of the state on Meghalaya’s Statehood Day and for giving impetus to the national nomination of the Living Root Bridge for UNESCO World Heritage recognition.
