गौरीपुर विधानसभा क्षेत्र में कांग्रेस, एआईयूडीएफ और एनडीए के बीच त्रिकोणीय मुकाबला देखने को मिल रहा है। हालांकि, एआईयूडीएफ के दो बार के विजेता, सक्रिय और जनप्रिय नेता निजानुर रहमान, जिन्होंने असम में बीजेपी सरकार के दौरान कई विकास कार्य किए हैं, उनकी जीत की संभावना अधिक मानी जा रही है।

वहीं, 10 नंबर बिलासिपारा विधानसभा क्षेत्र में एनडीए गठबंधन के एजीपी उम्मीदवार और पूर्व कार्यकारी सदस्य जीबेश राय की जीत की संभावना जताई जा रही है। उनकी जीत का आधार उनकी निष्ठा, “डबल इंजन” सरकार की विकास योजनाएं और क्षेत्र की सामाजिक संरचना (एसटी और हिंदू मतदाता, साथ ही मुस्लिम समुदाय की भागीदारी) मानी जा रही है।
